Growing Companies

You’ve been in business for some time and have enjoyed some success, but to build on this success you realise you must stay dynamic. As a small business you need to be constantly reacting to the market place and your competition, if you stay still, you will go under.

Many small companies start off well, with a good product, good working team and good reputation yet they struggle to take their services to larger markets and hit difficulty when they try to expand. This is a natural part of a companies lifecycle and at this difficult stage sometimes you need a little guidance to emerge from the Chrysalis as a butterfly!

You may need to make changes in how you manage people, or the way that you develop and promote your product range or in the way that you develop your IT and business systems to take advantage of the opportunities on offer. We’ve come up with some programmes that address these cruical issues for you.

Our ‘Refocus your business’ workshop looks at changing your product set and developing stories both internally and externally to re-state your brand. It covers how customers think, what language to use and where to place your messages for best effect. It’s supplemented by our revolutionary ‘Whole-brain selling programme’ which developed out of a major sales training programme devised for a major IT retailer.

However it’s no good having the vision and the story right without the delivery to back it up. That’s why we help you focus on the systems side as well, with 2 programmes covering ‘Growing your IT systems’ and ‘Success in the networked economy’. These are based on the work we did for the DTI and are designed to help you deal with the challenges of picking the right strategic partners, as well as becoming fit to take part in the supply chains of the larger customers who will provide the baseload of business for a growing company.

Finally our ‘Creating value’ programme deals with what you have to do to achieve a successful exit strategy. This means systematically building the intangible value of the company which resides in 4 areas – people, processes, customer information and formal product IPR. Achieving this means knowing what to do, what to measure and how to keep on track towards your goal. Our 1 day Creating Value workshop will give you the tools to break through the business glass ceilings that we all face.
